Some private health funds provide rebates for counselling services, rebate amounts will depend on your policy and level of cover.
Private Health Rebates are available for the following health fund providers
HCF, BUPA, Medibank, ARHG (incorporating St Luke's, CUA Health, Phoenix Health Fund, Emergency Services Health) and AHM
Can I Claim Medicare Rebate for Counselling Services?
Medicare rebates are available if a Mental Health Care Plan has been obtained from your GP.
Bulk Billing is not available, full fee is required at the time of your session.
Rebates are claimable directly through Medicare.
Medicare will rebate up to 6 sessions of counselling.
